If Obama wins, as soon as she turns 18, that little girl will vote in every election for the rest of her life -- and she'll vote Democratic.

If Obama loses, it'll break her heart.

And mine, too.

by EveningStarNM on 10/03/2008 02:04:12 PM EST

She'll grow up and figure out that Obama is just another bullshit artist.

You've cleared up a lingering doubt I've had that you might have something valuable to contribute to these discussions.

But your statement above makes it abundantly clear that you don't, and that your opinions are as worthless as your character.

by EveningStarNM on 10/03/2008 03:57:57 PM EST

In time it will become obvious to most that Obama is an empty suit. As soon as he got in the Senate, he began planning to run for president. But at each step along his journey, he changed nothing. He has accomplished nothing. Change we can believe in? No. He never changed anything for the better in any of his positions. He is all talk, and not very good at that without a teleprompter.

by Twba on 10/04/2008 12:56:11 AM EST

[ Parent ]
let me get this straight. You think Barack Obama is such a terrible public speaker...that he can't even use a teleprompter? Ken says you're smart, but once in a while when I read your posts, I'm afraid you don't live up to the hype, weenie.

by hazmat on 10/04/2008 02:27:27 AM EST

...your opinions are as worthless as your character.

You're only upset that I told the truth about Obama. If I had lied about the seventeen year old daughter of a Republican, you would be thrilled, wouldn't you?

by Twba on 10/05/2008 12:59:46 PM EST

[ Parent ]

I have no idea why your link is relevant to our discussion.  Calling someone a bullshit artist without providing both a definition and evidence is 4th-grade level argument.  Besides, there's a picture of Palin in her seventh month of pregnancy when she obviously was not seven months pregnant, and no one has answered the obvious question.  Nevertheless, it has nothing to do with our argument.

You have a long row to plow, but your skills in logic, research, and debate don't seem to be up to the task.

Step One: Learn how to be honest.

We used to call Twba "smart."  But it's not that he was all that smart, just polite.  Now he's neither.

by OneHitKill on 10/06/2008 04:08:11 AM EST

[ Parent ]
I've had enough of the bullshit. Did you happen to watch the veep debate? Sen. Joe "Mr. Fucking Foreign Policy Expert" Biden was just making shit up. When the fuck did Hezbollah get kicked out of Lebanon? That jackass is the next #2? What a fucking joke. He and Obama wanted NATO in Lebanon? That's change we can believe in? Really? Politely piss off.

by Twba on 10/06/2008 08:36:56 AM EST

[ Parent ]
Once again, Bobo -- I mean, Twba -- You aren't thinking in relative terms.  I'm sorry you have a nit to pick with Biden.  Meanwhile, the rest of us have a whole bushel of nit to pick with McCain, and another dumptruck load with Palin.  Beggars can't be choosers and you, sir, are a smelly, smelly beggar.

by OneHitKill on 10/06/2008 10:03:10 PM EST

But I have to question the intelligence of anyone who could vote for the empty head that is Sarah Palin.

Empty head versus empty suit. Tough choice.

by Twba on 10/07/2008 09:01:36 AM EST

[ Parent ]

...is that you think that "empty suit" comment has actual meaning.

Your world is going to change drastically over the next few years because of Barack Obama and the people who support him.  We're going to do our best to undo the stupid and dangerous policies that the people you support have enacted.  These changes are going to make you dizzy because we have to act fast in order to prevent any of several looming calamities that you have caused from occuring.

So, enjoy it while you can.  This will probably be the last time you'll be able to use that phrase "empty suit".  Your ideological world is ending because that "empty suit" is crushing it.

by EveningStarNM on 10/07/2008 10:31:55 AM EST

We're going to do our best to undo the stupid and dangerous policies that the people you support have enacted.

It's hard to fix a problem when you don't know what caused it. Your best just might make it worse.

Your ideological world is ending because that "empty suit" is crushing it.

That empty suit is not crushing classical liberalism. He is seducing ignorant voters with empty promises.

I guess my response is if my choice is between a guy promising to do things that we know will lead to failure and disaster and a guy promising to do things that might work the choice is pretty obvious.

Of course, twba is kind of a dim bulb and can't get it through his head that virtually no one here thinks Obama is a messianic figure or that he will save the world.

We have two choices.  He is the better one.  It really doesn't go any further than that.

I know all your pre-packaged talking points require your opponent be some deranged Obama cultist so you are gonna keep building that straw man and blowing him down but you are punching the air.

If you want to have an actual discussion explain why McCain is better choice between the two.  Otherwise, go start your own message board and just post attacks and insults to the imaginary opponents you love to crush and leave us alone.

Oh, and despite your unsupported assumption that you and only you understand the cause of all our problems and the course of history everyone here thinks you are a joke, except Ken and maybe bobo.

...a guy promising to do things that we know will lead to failure and disaster...

Who is promising to raise tax rates on the most productive and oppose free trade? Those policies led to disaster for Herbert Hoover.

Oh, and despite your unsupported assumption that you and only you understand the cause of all our problems and the course of history everyone here thinks you are a joke...

Tell me something I haven't known for years. I would rather be correct and thought a joke than be wrong and thought a wise man.

You are halfway to being a success.

So, I am gonna put you down for "more Bushonomics" on the financial policy front.  Ok?

Twba argues just like his hero Johnny Boy.  Attack attack attack cause he's got nothing positive to say about his candidate.

by desertpear on 10/07/2008 04:53:19 PM EST

There really isn't much positive to say about either McCain or Obama. Sad but true.

I'm voting for Palin. I have said positive things about her. I especially like how she is hated by all the right people.

by Twba on 10/08/2008 01:52:13 AM EST

That's a really great reason to vote.  Enjoy.

What's funny is that you think Palin is the stupid one. But Palin never said, "I am absolutely certain that generations from now, we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when we began to provide care for the sick and good jobs to the jobless; this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal." I absolutely will not vote for the moron who said that.

That's a shame.  Well, good luck.  I hope you find your conversational soulmate someday.  Maybe, when dumb Grandma Palin loses the VP race, she'll have more time on her hands and you can talk her ears off.

That empty suit is not crushing classical liberalism. He is seducing ignorant voters with empty promises.

It's just like the first time I realized there was no Santa Claus.  Our little Twba is becoming a man.  Or what ever.

Spend less time worrying about these "ignorant" voters (I can only assume you don't count yourself among them, but stop me if I'm wrong about that) and spend more time worrying about what kind of pencils you'll sell on street corners after the McCain-induced economic collapse hits.  That, at least, would be productive.

by OneHitKill on 10/07/2008 12:30:39 PM EST

...that because you deny and don't understand what caused our problems that we don't understand them.

Your assumption is incorrect and indicative of your extreme ignorance.

How's that for polite?

Your links not only support Obama but also help to disprove your argument.  Of course, claiming that someone is a "bullshit artist", being such a broad claim, requires broad evidence, but I'm sure that simple idea escaped you.

Are you sure that you understand the Acorn issue?  You don't appear to.

Anyway, thanks for doing my job for me.

1)-At least Obama has some BRAINS behind his bullshit.

2)-The new drinking game has to be to slam a shot every time Palin says "also". Then again you'd die of alcohol poisoning.

My God was that obnoxious. Every time she says "also" I think of Miss Teen South Carolina saying "such as". She uses the word excessively and sometimes randomly.

"It is impossible to build sound constitutional doctrine upon a mistaken understanding of constitutional history. . . . The establishment clause has been expressly freighted with Jefferson's misleading metaphor for nearly forty years. . . . There is simply no historical foundation for the proposition that the framers intended to build a wall of separation [between church and state]. . . . The recent court decisions are in no way based on either the language or the intent of the framers."

Man I hate when people argue on boards..

If I want to read that i'll go back to reading MTV's BS.

but anyway I love that most of you guys can prove points and make sure you research your facts..

I am new here today...all I got to say is don't open your mouth until you have the HARD FACTS (i.e links, articles, historical documents)

Making yourself look uneducated is the worse thing a person can do!

..and I am just a seed in the cornfield...

take it ez all

We were just mocking TWBA.  These are mostly inside jokes going back years.

and we ignore the fact that this is a beautiful picture.  The sparkle in this girls eyes is an acknowledgment that she can be whatever she wants to be.  It extends beyond the arguments of this particular election and these specific candidates.  It means that we are progressing in our asymptotic approach to racial equality.
